| September 14 | 9:00 AM PST | Continuing Your Service: Professional Opportunities in the Healthcare & Life Sciences | Looking to transition into the healthcare and life sciences industry? This session, provided by Johnson & Johnson, will give audience members a broad understanding of the functional role types and various opportunities available at Johnson & Johnson. Panelists will share their journey into the healthcare space, and what has made them stay. Hear from these professionals about the biggest trends being seen in the industry today, how your professional skills can translate into the field, and how to grow within these roles. |
| September 29 | 3:00 PM PST | Women, Peace and Security | This talk will address the foundations of the Women, Peace & Security (WPS) framework as grounded in United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000). That framework calls for the increased inclusion of women in addressing security issues and for gendered perspectives in policy making, based on the pillars of participation, protection, prevention, and relief and recovery. Factors inhibiting the accomplishment of WPS goals include structural and cultural prejudices including manifestations through violence. Based on the US Women, Peace & Security Act (2017) and subsequent national and organizational strategies and implementation plans, including the DOD WPS Strategy & Implementation Plan released in June 2020, the role of the US military - nationally and globally - in implementation is critical. |
